Fringe Arts Bath Festival

Fringe Arts Bath Festival

We are delighted to be hosting a selection of exhibitions and performances here in Milsom Place as part of the 2022 Fringe Arts Bath Festival.

Fringe Arts Bath Festival (known as FaB), Bath’s annual visual arts festival, is returning to the city after going online for two-years, with 17 days of free exhibitions, interventions and events. The festival aims to raise the profile of contemporary visual arts in Bath and beyond, and provides early-career curators and artists with a platform. All of which means a chance to see lots of exciting artists!

Please join us for FaB’s Opening Night Arty Party celebration on Friday 27th May, 6pm ’til late in Milsom Place and other exhibition venues around the city!

The following exhibitions and performance projects will be on show in Milsom Place:

Simone de Beauvoir’s book ‘The Coming of Age’ allows us to think of youth and old age, the journey to adulthood, and cross-generational views. This exhibition, rather than focusing only on practical, physical issues, examines the existential, philosophical problem of how we are in the world at any age.

It’s a simple challenge: submit 20 photos, in response to 20 themes, taken in the right order over 10h. Far more than that, the FaB Photomarathon takes you on a psychogeographical ramble, usually through the city of Bath, UK.

GRWP

Cardiff Umbrella would like to use this opportunity to invite and showcase the work of marginalised Welsh and Wales-based Artists (prioritising the work of POC, LGBTQ+ and disabled Artists), with the aim of showcasing work from communities that wouldn’t usually be visible in Bath.

‘Rewind: Let’s Press Play Together’ uses nostalgia, playfulness, and outdated technologies to explore connectivity. Looking at how individuals connect with themselves, one another, and society: how we engage with our individual and collective pasts, presents and potential futures.

Depending on context, seven seconds can seem a long or a short period of time. Seven Seconds features works by artists who have explored this duration in different ways.

BIDDY is a performance event curated by Clare Carswell and Peta Lloyd showcasing works by experienced women performance artists over the age of fifty.

A two-day event showcasing new sound works which reflect our global health pandemic and environmental crisis. Eleven composers will present work in listening sessions and live performances.
