We take five minutes to get to know the founder of Le Vignoble, Yannick Loué, a little better!

Describe your business in a nutshell
It’s a one-stop-shop for wine lovers
Why do you do what you do?
I love wine, and I want to help other people discover more about it.
After work you can find me…
After work? When’s that? When I take ‘a break’ I usually head to The Oven for a pizza & craft cough cough beer.
If someone asked to be your apprentice and learn all that you know, what would you teach them?
Every member of my team starts with the basics, so first they’d need to learn all of our operational jobs. Forget job titles – I expect every member of the team to muck in, so that would be one of the first lessons.
If you could give your younger self any piece of advice, what would it be?
That’s a good question, I would say learn to be patient, and also for good news there is usually bad news to follow, and vice versa.
What kind of wine do you like to drink?
I’m a big fan of heavy whites and light reds, which is the style typical of Burgundy in France.
Describe your most memorable wine experience
It has to be importing six pallets of wine from France and selling it in less than 24 hours; that was a good day.
Your top tips for a novice looking to invest in wine?
Don’t overkill with anything too heavy, and never be too shy to ask the experts questions, but overall follow what you like and have confidence in your own choices.
