Milsom Place plans

The streets of North Bath have a special flavour; its historic buildings are home to a variety of original and high quality businesses from 'delis' to designer fashion. But this area has poor pedestrian links and streets such as Broad St, Green St and Walcot St struggle to benefit enough from their proximity to bustling Milsom Street and New Bond Street.

By carefully linking a series of listed buildings including the Octagon Chapel together with the open courtyards of Shires Yard and the Moon & Sixpence, the L&R Group, (owners of Shires Yard) will be opening up dramatic new pedestrian routes and spaces which will provide a focal point for the whole area and will also allow access to some interesting listed buildings hitherto hidden. This area is to be known as "Milsom Place".

Works commenced at the start of 2007 and are due for completion in the spring of 2008. New names already announced include Jamie's Kitchen and flagship stores for Cath Kidston and Hobbs and a refurbished and extended Moon and Sixpence restaurant.

This site will be regularly updated with news about the programme of works and new businesses arriving at Milsom Place in 2008. Shires Yard website: www.shiresyard.co.uk
