Minerva’s Owls of Bath Sculpture Trail

25 JUN - 10 SEP

City of Bath

As a sponsor, Milsom Place is very excited to be a participant in this trail and from 25th June we will be displaying our very own owl designed by artist Sue Guthrie – all to be revealed!

Minerva’s Owls of Bath 2018 is a major public art sculpture trail featuring a giant flock of individually decorated, super-sized owl sculptures displayed across the World Heritage city of Bath and surrounding region from 25 June – 10 September 2018.

WHY OWLS?

The Roman Baths temple, built in 1AD, was dedicated to the Roman goddess of wisdom, whose animal symbol was an owl. A stone owl can be seen carved into the Temple pediment displayed at the Roman Baths Museum.

The high profile, interactive sculpture trail will celebrate the Roman heritage of Bath and mark the 10th anniversary of the highly successful and fondly-remembered King Bladud’s Pigs sculpture trail, created in 2008 by Gitte Dawson. All profits from the event will be donated to local charities.
