
Setting up Business at Milsom Place
Milsom Place is an innovative retail and catering scheme forming a new link between Bath's two most fashionable streets, Milsom St and New Bond St. The scheme, which completes this autumn, is arranged over three pedestrian levels to provide accommodation for 26 shops and 4 restaurants including a number of larger format stores and restaurant premises. Existing buildings have been connected via new pedestrian streets and open courtyard spaces using a careful blend of stylish modern design with historic refurbishment.
Milsom Place will be home to a complementary mix of businesses, dominated by fashion retailing and restaurants, which will be marketed and promoted as a single destination for a sophisticated target audience from Bath and its surrounding regions. It will not be a shopping centre, or a tourist destination, instead it will take on the feel of a London 'village' such as Chelsea, Marylebone or Notting Hill and will be pro-actively managed as an estate.
The letting policy focuses on quality and individuality and, whilst well known specialist brands will form the core of the trading offer, this will not be at the expense of independents. Leases can also be structured flexibly on a long or short term basis with RPI or turnover linked rents.
